Product Lust - Natural Products for Baby and You

Apologies to all the non-mummies / mummies-to-be - this post will probably bore you! I'm sorry. I promise I'll make it up to you...

Anyway, I don't know whether it's being pregnant that's changed me a little, but over the past few months, I've become incredibly conscious of what I'm slapping onto my body. I've started poring over ingredients and analysing bottles like a crazy lady!

Perhaps this is why I was delighted to recently discover Spieza, a wonderful Cornish company who specialise in handmade, organic skincare. Not just this, but I also found out that one of my all-time favourites, Weleda, do a mums and baby range. Both are perfect for anyone like me who doesn't want to be slathering themselves in chemicals and god knows what else!

Since baby is still just a tiny bump, my two favourite products have to be the Spieza Restorative Body Balm and Weleda's Stretch Mark Massage Oil - both are gorgeously rich and moisturising without being too oily, and I'm hoping (make that praying) that using them morning and night will herd off any dreaded stretch marks.

The Restorative Body Balm contains coconut oil and beeswax and is perfect for using after a pampering bath, when the skin is still warm. It smells delicious, and I think I will use it way, way beyond pregnancy! Meanwhile, Weleda's Pregnancy Oil is fantastic for easing off any nasty or tricky dry patches (my body has been full of them recently!) on the body - it's great for using just before bed because I find it so soothing to apply. Plus, it seems to warm up my whole body - lovely for a chilly night!

Anyway, I can't wait for baby to arrive so that I can get using both brand's products which are made especially for little ones. You can take your pick from Spieza's baby massage oil (infused with lavender, so hopefully one to settle little one down for the night!) or skin salve (works its magic on nappy rash!), or Weleda's award-winning Calendula Nappy Change Cream or Calendula Facial Cream.

Have you got any other must-haves for use in pregnancy?

Sam x

P.S Spieza make a fantastic Mother and Baby starter set for anyone who wants to try before they buy. It contains the body balm, the baby skin salve,  baby massage oil, calendula ointment, soothing leg and foot balm and the lavender and chamomile soap.
