Getting the Buzz - Therapi Skincare

For centuries, the powerful effects of honey have been well-documented. Packed with many antibacterial and antiseptic qualities and loaded with vitamins and minerals, it's long been used as a natural healer to treat wounds and infections.

Given this, it comes as no surprise that finally - finally! - a modern skincare line has embraced one of nature's most powerful ingredients. Therapi Skincare was born out of a serious love for bees (founder Tanya Hawkes is a bee keeper) and, using honey as its base, offers a range of gentle and effective products ideal for sensitive skins.

From cleansers and toners to moisturisers and radiance-boosting creams, this natural and organic brand is every bit as lovely as it sounds - and, believe me, it smells even more wonderful! I am a huge believer in honey and its magic, so I couldn't wait to get stuck in.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to be sent a range of Therapi's products to try, including the No. 1 Honey Gel Cleanser. Coming in three variations to cover each skin type (oily, normal and dry), this elegantly-packaged gel cleanser is formed with 11% honey to naturally cleanse and purify, without drying out the skin.

Therapi No 1 Honey Gel Cleanser

I tried out the Lemon Myrtle cleanser (priced at £25), which is aimed at oily or combination skins, and I was in absolute heaven the second I smelled it. With scents of lemon and grapefruit, I was immediately whisked away (if only) to long, hazy days in the Mediterranean. It was soothing, comforting and invigorating, all at the same time.

The cleanser itself is a lightly foaming gel wash which lathered up brilliantly. After massaging in and washing off, my face felt clean and looked vibrant - while all traces of make-up had been removed, my skin didn't feel dry in the slightest. I was simply left with a bright, youthful glow.

Also transporting me to a much-needed holiday was the smell of the brand's delicious Orange Blossom No. 3 Honey Moisturiser (£30). Seriously, this smelled every bit as heavenly as Jo Malone's Orange Blossom cologne! I wanted to bathe in it.

Containing organic honey, calendula, sea buckthorn oil and orange blossom, Therapi describes this as a "skin nectar" and I couldn't put it more perfectly! Quickly absorbed, this left my face feeling super soft and hydrated, but without any oily residue, making it the perfect make-up base or day-to-day moisturiser.

All in all, I am utterly addicted to Therapi's gorgeous range. And, better yet, 5% of all profits are also donated to bee conservation projects. What's not to love?

The range can be bought on Therapi's website here, or on the fab beauty emporium Being Content.
