DIY Moisturising Honey Face Mask

The last few weeks have been hard on my skin. Really, really hard.

I mean, whoever said that pregnant women should have a radiant glow...well, let's just say that they haven't met me.

You see, I've been suffering with the worst kind of insomnia (apparently another pregnancy-related symptom, HURRAH!) imaginable. Some nights, I haven't even managed a minute of sleep, while others I'll get anything from 30 minutes to two hours - and that's on a good night!

While it's starting to make my energy levels plummet to unknown levels, my skin is also starting to see the effects too. Whereas I've never suffered from dry skin before (my face is usually combination), I've got nasty little patches of dry, inflamed and red skin popping up across my cheeks and forehead. Unsightly is not the word...

I've tried and tried all my usual and trusted face masks, but to no avail. And then, suddenly, I thought - why don't I try making my own?

I'm a huge, huge believer in the healing powers of honey (it's been used for centuries to treat the skin, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties), so I decided to whip up my own mask using my new Manuka jar.

Combined with full-fat Greek yoghurt and Lucy Bee Coconut Oil, then slathered onto the skin, it near-erased all the dry bits and left my face feeling completely smooth and (dare I say it?) I even got a little of my glow back. Wonder of wonders - and all for the cost of raiding my kitchen cupboards!

Anyway, here you have it: my DIY Moisturising Honey Mask.

Ingredients:
1 tbsp honey, preferably raw or Manuka
2 tbsp full-fat Greek yoghurt
1 tbsp Lucy Bee coconut oil, melted
1 tbsp porridge oats, cooked and left to cool

Method:

1) Combine the ingredients in a bowl, then slather onto the face for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and a muslin / flannel and watch that glow!
